Stitches of Love
Stitches of Love Women’s Ministry – Roatan started when a group of ladies from a sewing group in Oklahoma City wanted to share their skills and resources with the women of Roatan.
Sewing machines were purchased, material donated, and training provided to a group of women from The Church of God Sandy Bay and La Iglesia de Dios church in Coxen Hole. This single act of generosity is enabling these women to help provide for their families.
Eunice has several children, one of whom has mental challenges and another with hydrocephalus. Through the sales of these items, Eunice hopes to be able to pay for a surgery her son needs.
Doris is a mother with grown children who is raising her grandson because the mother is a cocaine addict. Suri tries to make ends meet by selling perfume door-to-door. Mirtha’s husband has been out of work for many months and her family lives with her in-laws in a small shack. All the women in the sewing project love their Saviour and are grateful for this opportunity from ‘Stitches of Love’ (Oklahoma City) and ‘Teaching in the Son’ (Roatan).
The women connected with each other through Deborah Hunnicutt, a local missionary and dear friend of ours. The Coxen Hole ladies are learning English from Deborah as well. The ladies are thrilled to be sewing with machines and the products are made with love and care. We are happy to sell for them in our shop and now online!
